The company has already revealed the price and
availability details of the Xiaomi Mi4‘s 64GB variant model for the Indian
market, just a day before the 16GB variant goes on sale.
The head of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain announced on twitter that the 64GB version of Mi 4 is coming to India soon."
The image in the tweet says that the 64GB variant of
the Mi4 costs Rs 23,999 which is Rs 4,000 more than the 16GB variant and it
will be available in the country from February 24.
The 16GB Mi4 which cost Rs 19,999 is already in the
market in India since February 10. The phone is quiet impressive The 16GB storage space of
which only 12GB was available to the users, would not go well with a lot of users. Moreover, for just
Rs 2,000 over the Mi 4 price tag, the OnePlus One certainly offers better
value. The OnePlus One also made an announcement stating that
in order to celebrate its 10 weeks in India, it is going to sell the OnePlus
One in an open sale format requiring no invites to buy the OnePlus One.
It is quite obvious that the Xiaomi Mi 4 is facing a great competition from the OnePlus One, which at just Rs 2,000 more to offer a 4G LTE handset and that too with a64GB storage space. While in comparison of Xiaomi Mi 4 with the OnePlus One, the phone will still be a 3G handset and also the Xiaomi Mi 4 with 64GB storage will be at Rs 2,000 more than the OnePlus One.
This is the first time when Xiaomi has announced a new
variant of its phone before the major model starts selling. Unlike Xiaomi’s
budget offerings, the price of Mi 4 is quiet close to OnePlus. A glance at any
forums in India will suggest you a picture of how a lot of Indian consumers are
not happy about the fact of the storage capacity of Xiaomi specially when the
price is touching Rs 20,000.
The response to the 16GB Mi 4, seems lukewarm.
Regardless, it is going to be interesting to see how this battle between the
Xiaomi Mi 4 and OnePlus One pans out.
