Samsung launched two
amazing new smartphones yesterday, the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. The
new Samsung Galaxy S6 is although is bit different from its predecessor but
also it has similarities also. But the second phone that is the Samsung Galaxy
S6 Edge is different from its predecessors in terms of specifications and looks
as well. The all new Galaxy S6 Edge has curved sides on both its sides. That
gives an overall fresh look to the phone. Samsung’s design engineers have done
a wonderful job in design the curved screens and the designs.
Galaxy S6 Edge: Design and Display
The Galaxy S6 Edge looks
great in design especially the curved screen part that makes it distinguished
from the rest of the galaxy devices even from the Galaxy S6. Coming to the display,
the S6 Edge holds a 5.1 inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution rating
of 1440 x 2560 pixels which gives an immense viewing experience at 577ppi. The
Galaxy S6 Edge is protected by Gorilla Glass 4 both on front as well as the
Rear side, now that’s quite impressive.
Galaxy S6 Edge: Camera
Samsung has come up with
an all new camera for the Galaxy S6 and the S6 Edge as well. The main camera of
the Galaxy S6 Edge is a 16 Megapixels shooter accompanied by LED flash and an
ISOCELL sensor. The Front Camera is a 5 Megapixels Shooter. Samsung has been always
well known for its camera quality. So, although 16MP, we can sure you that the
picture will be great.
Galaxy S6 Edge: Hardware and Software
Coming to the things that
power up the new Galaxy S6 Edge, the device holds an Octa-Core Exynos 7420
processor which is a combination of four cores of Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.5 GHz
and four cores of Cortex-A57 clocked at 2.1 GHz. The Exynos 7420 processor is
bundled with massive 3GB LPDDR4 of RAM and supports a Mali T760 GPU for the
graphics engine. In the International version, the S6 Edge will have Exynos
processor but there is no idea about what processor will be used in the US
versions. The Exynos processor is built on a 14 nm process that makes it more
energy efficient than the 20 nm process. The device runs on latest version of
Android i.e. Android Lollipop touched by Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
Galaxy S6 Edge: Battery and Storage
The Galaxy S6 Edge is big
on everything. The battery is also even big with a 2,600 mAh power capacity. We
know there are a lot more phones with still better capacity but believe that,
the phone will provide you 4 hours of continuous backup with just 10 minutes of
charging. Now that’s big. The phone has fast charging feature of charging the
phone 1.5 times faster than the Galaxy S5. The device features 32GB / 64GB /
128GB of storage with no options of external card support. Samsung has removed
any type of removable options like, removable memory card or removable battery.

Apart from these, the
device also has an infrared device placed just by side of the rear camera that
will help in better image quality and it will also act as heart sensor
measuring your pulse rate. There is a fingerprint scanner on the home button of
the device that works very well. The phone will be available in three colors as
Green Emerald White Pearl, Gold Platinum, Black Sapphire when it will be
launched in the market on April 20 in limited markets later then it will be
available in other markets. The price of the phone is estimated to be EUR 849
(58,600 INR). That’s a quite good price for the features being offered.
