Whatsapp Security Flaw Lets Anyone Bypass Privacy

Please do give a second thought if you think you are safe with Whatsapp privacy settings. Few major flaws have been detected!
A serious issue has been raised in the IM application which enables a user’s status and the profile picture to be tracked regardless of their privacy settings.

WhatSpy Public’ has been designed by Maikel Zweerink who is a student of the Dutch University. The web based application tracks every move of any user that they want to follow. This application was setup as an ‘Proof’ which says that Whatsapp is broken in terms of privacy.
The developer himself stated that he made this project to ring the bells of Whatsapp directing the privacy department of it.He started experimenting with Whatsapp to build a bot which helped his whole hypothesis to come true.
Once this app is set up, users can track Whatsapp users that they want to follow.Once its running,it keeps track of activities such as online/offline ,profile picture, privacy settings and status messages. This app requires a SIM card or non-Whatsapp phone number and some other resource.Maikel pointed towards his software tool that revealed the activities of a Whatsapp user even if he/she has turned on the privacy settings. This hasn’t been the first time that Whatsapp’s privacy has been questioned.Few days ago there had been a report which pointed to a new security bug in Whatsapp which lets anyone see a profile photo even if they have set it to ‘Contacts only mode’.Indrajeet Bhuyan who is a 17-year old security researcher had discovered this problem.
This problem occurred due to a new web version. The phone application wasn’t properly synced properly with the new web-interface.
