It was recently announced by Sony that the company is turning down its video & audio division just like it turned off the television division the previous year. Sony still showed many new interesting and exciting android TV’s and we hope that the company will launch a new range of Walkmans & camcorders.
After so many promising
years, one of the CEOs, Kaz Hirai appears to break the company systematically
for sale. The VAIO division that was hawked the previous year announced the
first composite laptops as an individual company. The CEO, Hirai, told that he
is considering to spin off smartphone division and sell the television division
outright.
According to the CEO, the
three core businesses of the company are:
- Sony picture entertainment
- Playstation division
- Vending image sensor to apple
Yes!! You read it
correctly. The company is closely holding core business with apple in providing
the company image sensors. Sony is also supplying sensors for many other phones
as well but not its biggest rival that is, Samsung. Their own chips are used by
the company, and no company can compete with Samsung in selling smartphones. Now,
if apple starts making their own sensors then another division of the company
comes to an end.

Being a great consumer
electronics companies for so many years now the company is falling apart due to
its software and smartphone division. The smartphones that the company
manufactures are excellent but are not able to grab the adhesion that the Samsung
phones are grabbing. Sony made the mistake of forcing upon garbage softwares
& the services on the people. They are correcting this error slowly, but now
most of their phones are running on clean android versions. Moreover Sony
backed off its music streaming assistance also. But for now its too late, the
Sony customers are buying Samsung phones from too long now.
Final Conclusion
The sales of the company
have declined gradually in the past years. The company must need to buck up and
bring something new in their products to excite the customers and to compel them
to buy their product. They need to compete with their biggest rivals that is,
Samsung, and need to bring improved products in a reasonable range. So lets
hope that the company brings a new range of products so that in can get back
its position and reputation in the market.
