Motorola delivered the new
Moto E 2nd generation smartphone in a unique press announcement to some
select media organizations overseas. It was announced that the company would deliver
a box to members of the press even though it wasn’t clear what would be in the
box.
Now what we know is that
Moto E second generation has a 4.5 inch qHD screen with 245 ppi IPS resolution.
The device has a 4G LTE speed and it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The
LTE version is powered with 1.2 GHz 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
paired with 1 GB of RAM. It also has a 400MHz Adreno 306 GPU.
The main attracting feature
is that it has a front camera but it is VGA. The smartphone comes with a 5 MP
primary camera with 720p video recording capabilities and autofocus facility.
The storage capacity can be expanded up to 32 GB by using any micro-SD card.
Other features are same like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, GLONASS etc.
Weight of new Moto E is approximately 145 grams. According to company, it has a
2,390 mAh battery which will last for a full day.
The company also provides a 3G
version of the Moto E second generation which is powered by a 32-bit Qualcomm
Snapdragon 200 processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. It has a 400 MHz Adreno
302 GPU for gamers. The new Moto E runs on Android Lollipop operating system.
This time Motorola is also providing some personalized software experiences from
Moto X to the new Motorola Moto E. Users can choose different Motorola Bands
and Grip Shells from different colors. Motorola Bands will be available in six
colors i.e. Golden Yellow, Red, Turquoise, Raspberry, Blue and Purple whereas Grip
shells will be available in Golden Yellow, Raspberry, Charcoal, Turquoise and
Blue.
The company will start new
moto E from USA and sell it in 50 different countries. The unlocked 3G version of
new Moto E will cost $119.99 which is around 7,430 INR but its cost will be slightly
more because of taxes in India. The 4G LTE Moto E second generation will cost
$149.99 but it is not clear whether it will launched in India or not as 4G
might not be supported in most of the regions in India.
