Apple recently announced
the Beta Updates of its iOS versions that are iOS 8.3 and iOS 9. With those
updates in OS, we will also be getting updates new improved emojis in the
coming iOS versions. Basically these emojis will be added to both iOS and OS X.
The new emoji now includes
a variety of skin color options for emoji featuring faces and people, hands and
other exposed skin parts. There will be new country flags. The new skin color
options are available as alternatives when a user taps and holds on any of the
people, face or hand emoji, thus offering a six color varied selection for any
given situation to be applicable.
A total number of 32 new
flags has been added to the existing collection. This new collection includes
new countries that go well beyond few European, North American and Asian
choices. These options of varied flags offered under the Travel and Places
Section of emoji keyboard in the upcoming iOS and in the special character
palette present in the OS X.
This new diversity in the
emoji keyboard was expected by everyone a long time ago since the month of
March last year, when MTV Act emailed Tim Cook (Apple CEO) and receved a reply
from PR Katie Cotton (Apple Head) who said that Apple would be working along
Unicode Consortium to build a more diverse emoji keyboard for the users.
Unicode then published a draft technical report regarding using modifiers to
produce a more diversified emoji than last year.
Adding to the diversity
changes, Apple also switched some gadgetry imaging which also includes offering
an iPhone 6 for smartphone image and an Apple Watch instead of a more
conventional time piece.
