Microsoft's New Outlook App For iOS Is Not Secured

Last year, Microsoft bought Acompli. This time it didn’t take long for it to launch an app, email app, for the latest version of both iOS and Android. The app is very well famous and is known as Outlook. In order to launch the app as soon as possible, Microsoft couldn’t take care of the safety measures.

As a matter of fact, IBM has suggested to stop using the Outlook as soon as possible. The mobile version of the Outlook has some issues, observing which Rene Winkelmeyer(IBM Developer) was astonished. He pointed out the main reason for worry-the storage of username and password in the cloud. Some time ago when the cloud of Apple was hacked, nude/naked pics of many Hollywood famous personalities were leaked into the public.

Although this is controversial that whether the pics were real or fake but the hacking was confirmed by the concerned authorities itself!
Winkelmeyer sent a text message from another account for text (account text). This is how this person discovered the problem. Winkelmeyer has something to say about the iOS app, Outlook:

Despite the fact that the alerts were stopped and no synchronization of his mail were set, there was a push notification was received by him. The notification informed him about the new mails. When viewed in depth, Winkelmeyer came to know about the scanning of mail accounts by an AWS IP address. And all this scanning, etc was done in the absence of Winkelmeyer’s consent .

There are connectors (built in) for connecting to OneDrive. This feature of Outlook concerns the security parameters. Not only OneDrive but Dropbox and Google Drive are also allowed by the connectors to attach files stored any of the cloud. A great concern for Businesses is that email attachments can be shared through these services. I rekon this as ‘Malware’, huh?

Final Conclusion:

Concluding the trio of concerns (security), iOS Outlook is an app that does not differentiate an individual’s multiple devices. A same ID is used regardless the changing of device form iPad to iPad mini or to iPhone. Winklemayer suggests some facts, please have a look.
