Indian mobile company Micromax has announced that it will be soon releasing the Lollipop version of Android(5.0) update for its canvas series of phones. Lollipop is the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system.
The first device to receive the update will be Micromax
Canvas Express A99. Based on the development, a company spokesperson said that
the company is committed to keep their customers delighted with best in class
softwares and hardwares. Based on the same fact the company is rolling out its
latest Android L update for its Canvas series.
Coming to the method by which the users can update
their devices; the company said that the users will get a notification on their handset through which they can connect to the internet and by just following the link they can upgrade
their devices to the latest operating software.The Micromax Canvas Express was
released by Micromax at Rs. 6,999 in December. It is powered by 1.3 GHz
Mediatek quad –core processor and a RAM of 1GB. The internal storage is kept to
8GB and a microSD card slot that supports cards to the extent of 32GB. The
screen size is 4.5 inch with IPS display.

It has still not been made
clear whether all the canvas series phones will get upgraded to Lollipop or
some. Recently Intex also
promised a Lollipop update for their new devices.
Recently, Google too
tweeted about a Lollipop update for Android One users in India within a few a
weeks. Android Lollipop was the most sought after release in the sphere of
mobile OS. It is still not on enough devices. According to some of the
statistics released by Google, the Lollipop build powers just 1.6% of Android
Devices.
