Lava has recently launched
its new entry-level smartphone for very low budget users. This is the Lava Iris
465. This is now listed in the lava website but still there is no official call
of when and where the device will be available. We can only expect that the
phone will be available soon in the coming days. Lava has already provided the
Indian people with lots of mobile phone options with a wide price range meeting
each and everyone’s need. This phone will fulfill the needs of a low budget
user. The main feature of the phone is that it comes with 21 Indian Languages.
Iris 465: Design and
Display
Looks wise, the phone is
normal not that great to flaunt of. But it looks good. The display of Iris 465
is a 4.5 inch FWVGA display with 854 x 480 pixel resolutions. The display type
is TFT with 16.7M colors. There are no hard buttons on the front but three
touch capacitive buttons for the usual Home, Menu and Back options.
Iris 465: Camera
The camera is a 3.2 MP one
with LED flash. Of course, now one can expect better camera than that at such a price
tag. But yes, there is also a secondary VGA camera also. There is no HD
recording, in fact the recording is done in 3GP format.
Iris 465 Hardware and
Software
The Iris 465 is powered by
a 1.3 GHz Dual core processor coupled with a mere 512MB RAM. The phone runs on
Andoid v4.4 (Kitkat) which is a good point. Another good feature is that, it
supports 3G network also.
Iris 465: Battery and
Storage
The battery option is quite
good for the phone as it comes with a 1750 mAh Li-ion battery that promises
good back up and talk time also. The storage features a 4GB flash memory out of
which 2.27GB is user available. The internal storage can be expanded up to 32GB
with the help of a micro-SD card.

Altogether, the phone is
good for the price tag of 4,499 INR. Those who have a hard constraint of
budget, they may go for this as this one of the cheapest android phones
available now. If not you can invest another 1,500 bucks to go for the XiaomiRedmi 1S. In our view, the battery, 3G connectivity and the Android version are the only
positive side. How much Lava will draw customers with this phone, only time
will tell.
