Last
month at CES, HTC announced that they are working with American sportswear
making company in order to work on fitness related wearable. According to report,
HTC can launch its wearable fitness product in upcoming MWC event in the month
of March. According to leakster @upleaks, HTC’s first wearable smart band will
be of 23g. It will have 1.8 inches of PMOLED flexible display with resolution
of 32x160 pixels. Display will show the time, stopwatch, alarm, weather report
and many more. Beside that it can show the music control unit, calendar
information and phone notifications with paired smartphone.

It will be available in three different sizes S/M/L, so that it can
fit your hand accordingly.Petra will also be able to analyse your footsteps and give you the count with the help of footpad provided by the HTC. According to same
leakster, it will support GPS in order to track your current position. Bluetooth enables this device can communicate with your smartphone. Battery
can be charged using USB or else you can use POGO pin which will last for more
than 3 days.
USA
will be the first country to use this device. Other countries have to wait to
use this product. This dust/ waterproof smartband will support Android (4.4 or
more) and iOS (7.0 or more). According to upleaks, two colours will be provided
i.e. Teal/ Lime or Black/ Blue Gray. ST Micro STM32L151 chipset will be given
by HTC.
HTC
is on different track and it will be interesting to see whether HTC gets
success or not. Well, by seeing features I am pretty impressed. The one thing I
liked most about this smartband is phone notification directly to your band.
