It
is very often when you go to rural part of the country or travelling across the
country and you don’t get the network. It is important to stay in touch with
your friends, family or office. I usually go to rural part of the country and
it is too irritating when I find the absence of network.
Well,
now the problem has been solved. The second largest telecommunication company in
Australia Singtel Optus Pty Limited has introduced a service so called Thuraya
Satsleeve Technology which is helpful to convert your iPhone and Samsung Galaxy
into satellite phone. Optus Thuraya SatSleeve enables iPhone users to turn
their handsets into the satellite phone with single click.
This
technology enables you to access voice, SMS and data functionality by providing
direct line of sight to the satellite. You need to attach Thuraya SatSleeve to
the back of your smartphone which can be activated from SatSleeve app. This app
can be downloaded from iTunes or Google play store for free.
Till
now this service is available for iPhone 6, 5s, 5, 4s and 4 in apple series.
Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S3 can also use this service. There is no news for
whether iPhone 6 plus will get this technology or not.
One
unit of Thuraya SatSleeve will cost you 800 Australian dollars (640 USD).
Additionally an adaptor will cost you 100 Australian dollars for each handset.
I
think travelling lovers will find it more useful and this can make their life easier.
We hope other devices will get this technology soon.
