Hackers Can Track Smartphone Location By Their Power Used

In a research done by a group of researchers at Stanford University and the Israeli defense company Rafael, it was found that we can track someone’s smartphone by knowing that how much battery is used by him/her. They researched on it and it was found that it was 90 percent accurate. The important thing is that you need not to take permission from user for any type of data to be shared.

Hackers Can Track Smartphone Location

The name of this technique is “PowerSpy” and you can gather information regarding the location of Android smartphones. They do this by knowing how much power is used in how much time and track the device by using this information. Power used depends on many factors like getting a signal, how much away the device is from a transmitter and many more.
