Siri can
do many things that even its Android rival cannot but there is one area where
it had been falling behind which is its ability to recognize English with an Indian accent.
Rather frustratingly, we have faked an American accent to make Siri understand
our commands. It
would appear that that issue may be resolved soon.
Initially reported by 9to5Mac, Apple began indicating
its wishes to grow Siri's language support a year ago when it began posting jobs
on its site. Its occurance in the iOS 8.3 beta indicates that the organization
has made a noteworthy improvement on this front and could be preparing for an
impending launch.
As
per a report in 9to5Mac, Siri will soon begin understanding English said with
an Indian stress. iOS 8.3 beta 2 is said to include Siri for various dialects,
for example, English for India, Dutch, Russian, Swedish and Turkish.
So far, our involvement with Siri has to a
great extent been good on the grounds that we figured out how to fake an
American stress for Siri. In case that was difficult, Siri would have been a
disaster. What’s more exciting for Indian users is that Siri also handles the
dictation for iOS. Really soon you'll have the capacity to compose full length
articles without writing a word.
The iOS 8.3 includes
various different options including better sign-in alternative for Gmail and
enhanced Emoji keyboard. It will probably be released in March as a public beta
version. The iOS 9, which is expected for the fall, is basically targeted
around giving better speed, performance, and robustness for the OS.
The number of personal assistants on the
smartphones has increased with each OS having their own assistant like Cortana
for Windows and Google Now for Android. Considering that there are higher users
with Indian accent across the globe Siri will now probably become a tad bit
more popular.
