Apple's Secret Project To Develop Electric Car

Apple Inc. has an undisclosed lab functioning on the formation of an Apple eco friendly electric car. It says the Apple research lab was set up previous year – sense of any car could still be years away.  The job has designed a vehicle that looks like a mini-van, the Journal quoted lone person as saying. It would acquire years to complete the project, and it is not firm if Apple will in due course build a car, the Journal said.

The report signals that Apple brand is roughly raising its ambitions for automotive technology, which has turn out to be a leading area of interest for Silicon Valley companies ranging from Google Inc to riding firm Uber to electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors Inc. Last year in March, Apple unveiled Car-Play, which allows drivers to access contacts on their i-Phones, make calls or take note of voice mails without taking their hands off the steering wheel.

The Financial Times reported previously that Apple had formed the secret laboratory and that Mr. Jungwirth, the head of Mercedes-Benz's Silicon Valley research and development unit had coupled the new research squad.

The research laboratory was place up in late last year, soon after Apple given away its upcoming smart watch and most up-to-date iPhones, said the Financial Times. Apple project named the project as “Titan," employed a number of people working only some miles away from Apple's headquarters in Cupertino, California The Wall Street Journal said.

Google is also working on plans for a self driving car which will drive on its own without a driver, but that is not part of Apple's plan, said by Journal.
