Apple is now planning to
release and publicly test its future iOS of 8.3 and 9 with a limited of users.
This will be similar to what Cupertino did last year with OS X. The iPhone
maker Apple will make available the iOS 8.3 beta testing somewhere in middle of
March whereas the iOS 9 beta will be released in summer before the release of
next iPhone.
With these beta versions
of iOS, Apple is saying that this will help avoid the bugs that dominate most
of iOS 8 version. Normally, Apple offers beta versions only to developers who
deposit an annual fee for that and other special privileges. Reports are there
that Apple is in move to crack down beta versions ‘alternate economy’ where
developers also add up normal users to the beta program free of cost. This beta
version testing will not be the first time Apple will be providing, but
Cupertino provided 1 million people to try the OS X Yosemite last year.
For this beta version,
Apple will be providing it to first 100,000 users who sign up on first come first
serve basis. The upgrade will be available using the existing Apple Seed
program. Users when sign up will be offered with a dedicated bug-claiming app
alongside. Apple offered beta version of iOS 8.3 codenamed “Stowe” to the
developers this month. This version included an improved Emoji keyboard,
improved Siri and easier login access for Google services.
Since there are a lot of
instability issues still under lying in the iOS 8.3, so iOS 9 codenamed “Monarch”
will be focusing more on stability issues and bug fixes. The current iOS 8
users are facing problems with their OS. iOS 9 which will be unveiled at WWDC
in June, is also reported to bring features like transit directions and indoor
modes to mapping service. Apart from this iOS 8.3 will be bringing with the new
music streaming service from joint work of Apple and Beats Music.
