You often feel embarrassed
when you are in the middle of a meeting and your phone shouts your ringtone for
a call. Then you suddenly see that everyone is looking at you and giving you
all sorts of weird look. Well today also when smartphones are having so much
awesome features but still smartphones are not smart enough regarding this
problem. There is no technology or feature brilliant enough to sense your
presence at different locations and act accordingly.
Microsoft has patented a
new technology for this, named as “inconspicuous mode”. This will turn your
phone smart enough to sense your presence at an event such as meeting and turn
your phone into silent mode or do-not-disturb mode.
Currently there is no
phone in the market with this sort of technology or feature. The inconspicuous
mode working relies on the sensors embedded in the phone and the internet. The
phone senses if the user is in a movie hall, meeting or going for sleep in
night. Once it has sensed, it turns down the ringtone volume and adjusts the
brightness of the phone. It also reduces the number of notifications to be
displayed on the lockscreen so that the person is not disturbed from the event
ehich he is attending.

The phone uses internet
and your GPS to locate your presence, it may also use sound levels, Wi-Fi, NFC
and other data as well. It also checks your calendar for info such as meeting
schedules, movie plans, dinner plans and syncs your phone for bed time or
wakeup time. If it finds any such meeting or movie plan, it automatically
activates and enters the inconspicuous mode. The feature is quite helpful and
can be turned off as and when required. It can also exit when it feels that the
event has finished.
If this feature is
equipped in the phones then this will take the smartphones to a whole new
level. Stay tuned for more updates and check the other upcoming phones from
Microsoft, the Lumia 1330 and the Lumia 1335 LTE.
