Taiwanese consumer electronics
major Asus released a new Zenfone 5 series smartphone model in India having a model number (A501CG-2B509WWE).
The main differences in the new Zenfone 5 variant is
that it is packed with a dual-core Intel Atom Z2520 processor with
Intel Hyper Threading Technology housed with 1.2 GHz instead of the original ZenFone5 (A501CG) powered by a 1.6 GHz processor dual-core Intel Atom Z2560.
Asus Zenfone 5 (A501CG) comes in black and
white models and even has a dual-core SoC exclusively available for ₹7,999. Because
of the lower price tag of the new Zenfone 5 variant, some followers may be
assuming that it will have less RAM than the standard version, but the better
news is that the A501CG-2B509WWE still has 2GB of RAM which is a major show up
of the device.
This immensely
popular phone has a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixel) IPS display. It has an
8-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front facing camera which provides a
great picture quality. There is 8GB of built-in storage on the device. Whereas
the inbuilt storage expansion via micro SD card is upto 64GB. The phone has
2110mAh battery to back them all. Just like the other ZenFone series handsets,
the ZenFone 5 (A501CG-2B509WWE) runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with the Asus
ZenUI, upgradeable to Android 4.4 kitkat.
It is to be noted that
this is the company's fourth ZenFone 5 model launched in India, the other three
are the ZenFone 5(A502CG), ZenFone 5 (A500CG) and ZenFone 5
(A501CG). All these models are slightly different in specifications mainly
between chipsets and screen. The other specifications of the new variant are
identical to the 8GB model of the ZenFone 5.
