Mediatek To Launch 10 And 12 Core Processors

Pushed away by Qualcomm, Mediatek is working its best for making a better CPU. Qualcomm made a mockery of Mediatek on the release of 8 core processors. Qualcomm states that the phone needs better performance not more number of cores. But on the contrary Qualcomm 2014/15 chipset line includes processors which feature eight cores.

Mediatek

The war of cores began in 2013 with the launch of Nvidia’s tegra 2 or we can say with the launch of Samsung’s pseudo octa core processors which inspired the Mediatek. It’s very hard to conclude whether Mediatek is better or Qualcomm.

After being ridiculed by Qualcomm, Mediatek has been working hard to prove them wrong and show the world what they are capable of. With the coming time a lot of new technologies are ready to roll the market which will surprise us all.

Thinking that eight cores are too much for a smartphone. Well you'll be surprised to know that Mediatek is doing something that will blow your mind. Mediatek is all set to launch processors with 10 or 12 cores reported by a Chinese blog Mydriver. Yes you heard it right, 10 and 12 core processors. While Qualcomm is busy making cores with high power and not increasing the number of cores, Mediatek is ignoring Qualcomm's comment and bringing processors with more number of cores.

Mediatek 10-12 Core

Stunned after reading this? Are you riddled with questions? Well I was stunned and had a lot of questions. Is it really possible to have room for so much computing power. If possible, then can we be able to take advantage of such computing power. Beside inevitably increasing power consumption, a CPU with 10- 12 core will have hardware limitations as well. It’s just like our desktops and laptops we cannot fix a ddr 2 ram on a mother board built for ddr3 ram. Rumours are spreading that Mediatek will be launching its 10 core and 12 core processors with Htc's next flagship device HTC 'HIMA'(ONE M9).

Mediatek To Launch 10 And 12 Core Processors

Mediatek is moving towards the logic that 'more is good'. But is that really so? Does having more cores good or having less but better performing ones good? The question which rolls around in everyone's mind is that will we have a 'true' 10-12 core processor or will Mediatek bring the big LITTLE technology in play which creates and brings multi-core processors to adjust to dynamic computing needs and requires less power than clock scaling alone.
