Bootloop
is a problem which people face while trying to root their phone or doing things
related to it. So this blog is a step by step guidance upon how to overcome
this problem and prevent your phone from becoming just a paper weight.
PROCEDURE
Step 1: Enter Recovery mode
Entering
recovery mode is not a difficult task but the only problem is that each and
every device has its own way of entering the recovery mode. So I am listing the
way for few phones, if your phone is not in the list below, please google it and
you’ll find it easily.
- Samsung
Galaxy Series: Volume Up+ Home + Power
- Nexus:
Volume Down+ Power
- Motorola
Droid X2: Volume Down+ Power
- LG
G2: Volume Down+ Power
Step 2: Wipe data/factory reset
Once
you are in the recovery mode screen, use the volume buttons to navigate
through the screen and highlight Wipe data/factory reset and then press the
power button to select it. Factory Reset is
a feature that erases all user data, device settings, third-party apps,
and associated app data from an Android device’s internal flash storage
to return the device to the condition it was in when shipped from the factory.
Step 3: Reboot the system
After
the factory reset most probably your phone would no longer have the problem of
bootloop, you can reboot your phone to check whether it is working normally or
not. In case you are having a rough day and your phone still continues to
irritate you, don’t worry and follow the next step.
Step 4: Wipe cache partition
For
this, again enter the recovery mode and use the volume rockers to highlight Wipe Cache
Partitions and the power button to select it. The system stores some temporary
data which allows it to access the apps easily and quickly but sometimes things
get cluttered so clearing the cache helps in running the system smoothly. This
step can be taken if your phone is having bootloop problem even after factory
reset. This won’t lead to the loss of any personal data.
Alternate Method
There
is another method in which you can fix this problem i.e. via CWM Recovery or
TWRP Recovery. These two are custom recoveries which people generally install
for rooting and all stuff. Now you have followed the same procedure as mentioned earlier to
enter into the recovery mode. For CWM, once you are in recovery mode, select “Advanced”
and then “Wipe Dalvik-Cache” and go into “Mounts and Storages” and select “Wipe/cache”.
After this you have to reboot your phone from the main menu. If the problem
still persists, then perform both “Wipe/data” as well as “Wipe/cache” from “Mounts
and Storages” and reboot the phone.
Conclusion
The above methods are some of the ways which can help you fix the problem of bootloop. Please be careful while performing these steps. As one wrong step and you may end up somewhere else.
