How to Make Calls, Send & Receive SMS from Your Computer Using an Android Phone

Once a great man said, progress is not something which is achieved by early risers but instead by the lazy people who keep trying to find easier ways to do things. Suppose you are working on a laptop or desktop and suddenly your phone starts ringing, what are you gonna do? Get-up and see who’s calling? Naaah! That’s what energetic people do; the lazy ones search for an alternate way and that is what we have exactly done. We are gonna instruct you how to send, receive messages and make call from your computer using your infuriating phone. It’s very simple, all you need is one app, read the procedure to get the job done.

Procedure

1.   Download and open the app Airdroid on your phone.
2. Now you can create your own account or just click on “Sign-in later” to proceed.
3.  Click on Enable when asked whether to show notification on your pc in real time.
4.  Click on AirDroid Notification Mirror service after you are directed to the system settings for notification’s access. After this a pop-up should appear and what you need to do is click on OK.
5.   Now you need to press the back button and after doing so you will see a URL (http://web.airdroid.com) on your phone screen.
6.   Open the URL on your computer and you will see a QR code.
7.   On your phone, click on the QR Code image next to the URL.
8. Your camera will open up, point it towards the code on your computer screen.
9.   Your device will vibrate once the scan is completed.

Now you have successfully configured your phone and your computer to receive all the notifications on your PC.

You can send messages simply by clicking on the Message app which will show all of your messages, then click on New Message, use your mouse and keyboard to type the message and then just click on send.

One limitation that is present with Airdroid is that you can’t talk to the caller using your computer, you can just use the options reject, receive or reject with messages. This problem can be solved if you pair a Bluetooth headset with your phone to take up the calls near your computer.

Conclusion

The whole idea of this post is inform you about the new and innovative ideas that are making noise in this era of technology and not to literally make you lazy. Seeing the benefits that this app can present, it won’t be a bad idea to use it to our comfort. But yes, there is still scope for advancements about not being able to speak to the caller by your computer. If that can be fixed, it will really turn out to be a great helping hand in our day to day lives.
