Smartphones
possess better and smarter qualities and facilities than any other mobile
phones. Some of its essential functions are web browsing, multimedia, various
sorts of entertainment like music, videos, movies, games, etc. It can also be
termed as a “mini-computer”, as it serves all the facilities as that of a
computer, and moreover it can easily fit into your pocket. Smartphones appeared
in the market about two decades ago, as to carry more facilities other than
simply calling and text messaging. Now it has extended its bounds to
applications, camera lenses, video streaming, browsing, etc enabling world to
connect with each other. Some of the features that you user would be ready to
expect in the nearer future are listed below.

First
feature is the ‘Built-in-Projector’. This feature can serve you with
innumerable facilities, though it is yet to gain user popularity and become
well acquainted with the recent smartphones. This is very useful for your
business puerposes. By using the projector you can display your slides
presentation directly from your phone. No need to carry heavy laptops and tablets
with you. Future smartphones can be turned into gaming consoles much like the
TV screen. A camera can capture your postures and interact them with the
objects on the projected screen. The Samsung Galaxy Beam has a Digital Light
Projection(DLP) WVGA projector, which can project images of size upto 50 inches
and 15 lumens.
Secondly,
the ‘Flexible Screens’, which provides us with a large screen to watch and play
music, movies, games and videos. Screens can be folded and unfolded at the same
time. Another advantage is that it can easily fit into your pockets. This is
made possible by OLED technology.
Thirdly,
is the ‘Wireless Charging’. Nokia Lumia 920 and Samsung Galaxy S4 have this
facility of wireless charging. Soon this technology will be featured in every
smartphones, diminishing the need for us to connect our phone to a charger with
cables for charging. Users will be charging their phones wirelessly.
The
next future-feature is the ‘Finger print sensor’. The next generation iPhone
will have this feature. It is rumored that the Samsung and Apple are planning
to add this feature to their phones. The biometrics-like feature would ensure
that only the owner can access the smartphone.
The
next upcoming feature is the ‘3D screens and Holograms’. The Apple’s Retina
Display provides a sharper and an excellent resolution, much more than a human
eye can perceive. Yet human wants have no bounds. Companies are now switching
on to the 3D future-feature-smartphones. Few are available in the market now,
such as the LG Optimus 3D, Motorola MT810, Samsung AMOLED 3D, etc. The next
step is the holographic projections. It is a combination of 3D
future-features-smartphones. 3D displays can be embedded with movements or
postures when it comes to the user interactions with the phone. It has
innumerable facilities, for example, you can change the size of your photos by
pulling or compressing the holographic photos with your hands.

The
next feature being the ‘Seamless Voice Control’. Voice control has made its
existence in many earlier mobile phones though the voice recognition function
was not that effective and developed. Efforts has been made towards the
advancement of this technology. Instead of recognizing commands via sound, Siri
interprets diction and syntax, much in the similar way we recognize speech.
This proves to be more effective and accurate. Now the companies are focusing
to feature the seamless voice control in every smartphones.
The
next feature is the ‘Augmented Reality(AR)’, which happens to be an important
feature in the future aspects. It is a computer technology term which refers to
what we analyze and perceive through our senses, especially sight, enhanced and
developed through the use of input such as sound, video, graphics and GPS data.
Using our phone’s camera, we can point it and get information about the nearest
cafes, pubs, resorts, restaurants or dinign places. Smartphones provide a
friendly platform for the AR to work. You can get access to any sort of
information you are searching for. Most AR apps now utilize GPS to get a
location which has to be searched. Based on its potential and utility, this
feature is surely to develop in the nearer future.
It
is very exciting to expect all these features in our future smartphones, but we
have to put in lot of efforts to get there. We must consider the money we
have to pay in order to access these features. Technology should be advanced
and developed. But whatever the features may be, it should always be used for a
good purpose. Users are waiting to see what the smartphone companies can offer
to them, and how the public will react to the alterations in the field of
technology. Can they adjust themselves to that alterations in the technology
environment or will they quit? I am very curious to see what will be the
circumstances, and I am quite sure of that even you are very curious.
Aren’t you?
