Following the “Make in India” campaign Spice Smartphone
manufacturing unit will be set up in UP. The company will be investing around Rs. 500 crores for the Indian Unit. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) being
signed by the company, soon the Spice will join the Smartphone manufacturing units
in India. It is said that the Spice’s UP manufacturing unit will be able to
come out with 1-2 million Smartphone’s a month which will be expanded later on.

Spice is one of the growing smartphone company. Spice
is also crowned for making dual SIM smartphones popular in India and is also
known for budget friendly smartphones. Having a manufacturing unit here in India we
can now expect Spice mobiles to give affordable and high technology smartphones.
The UP government also accepted to help the manufacturing unit for a limited
period by giving them the needed infrastructure and incentives. This would also
provide some employment to the locals of the unit. Spice’s chairman Dilip
Modi was glad of the government’s support in the manufacturing unit and also
said that they were helpful from the first when company set up India’s first photocopier
unit in UP.
It
is expected that the locals of UP will become a tech hub sooner or later. The government
is also very interested in the growth of the state’s electronic manufacture. And
this has led the government to be more supportive to those who are interested
in extending their manufacturing unit in Uttar Pradesh. India is found to be
fast growing Smartphone market in Asia. Having a manufacture unit in India will make
Spice to achieve their vision to sell affordable and high in technology Smartphones.
The
company now has a revenue run rate of 150-200 crore and its devices are manufactured
in China. Soon it will be manufactured in India too. Waiting for that moment
when India becomes a global manufacturing hub.
