Back in time, I didn't know that I can restore my
deleted Whatsapp messages, pictures, and video but now I know and I am going to
share with you the process of restoring your DATA.
You may or may not know that Whatsapp automatically
create backup of your text messages, images and videos, at 4 am every-day and
it will store that backup in you micro-SD memory card of your phone /
smartphone. So one of the most simple method to restore the recent backup of
your deleted Whatsapp data is to just simply uninstall and re-install WhatsApp
on your smartphone / phone. Although, this method is the most basic and shall
recover your most recent backup of the same day i.e. 4 am – 4 am. But if you
need to restore older WhatsApp messages, images, and videos then this method
will not work.
Here is how to restore your data in WhatsApp but
before that you must know upon restoration your current chat history will be
lost and also you can only restore / recover only upto 7 days of WhatsApp
backup files. Before
proceeding you must check whether or have File manager installed which can
rename the backup file. If not you can click here to download ESexplore, one of
the best file manager.
I assume that you are ready to proceed. Now here are the steps.
Step 1: Open WhatsApp to make a manual backup. Go
to the Backup Converstions of your WhatsApp chat setting. Here is the path
WhatsApp
-> [your menu button]->Settings -> Chat Settings -> Backup
Conversations
Step 2: Now perform manual back up. Your backup file
will saved as msgstore.db.crypt / msgstore.db.crypt5 in the local folder
of WhatsApp database i.e. (sdcard / WhatsApp/ Databases Folder) and can be
found in the location
/sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases/msgstore.db.crypt
iPhone :
/net.whatsapp.WhatsApp/Documents/ChatStorage.sqlite
Step 3: Now you found the WhatsApp database, you
need to rename the manual backup file so that you can easily recognize the file
later.
Step 4: Now you have to restore the WhatsApp
messages, follow the steps to do it.
First uninstall the WhatsApp
Now select the
backup file that is to be restored.
Rename that backup file from msgstore-yyyy-mm-dd.1.db.crypt5
to msgstre.db.crypt5
Step 5: Install WhatsApp. Click the Restore option when prompted to restore
your message history
