Indian Tech Giant Micromax
today launched its first Cyanogen based smartphone under the name YU Series.
The YU stands for Yureka brand. With this phone launch, Micromax is trying to
make a mark in the competitive smartphone market. The phone provides ultimate
features at a very low price that is going to rock the market. Micromax already
created a hype for itself in the recent past by launching wonderful featured
smartphones.
For this launch, Micromax organized
a grand event at NewDelhi. Rahul Sharma, Co-founder of Micromax and
Yu-Televentures, said that Yureka branded smartphones focuses mainly on the
youth of the nation who are quite tech enthusiasts.
Coming to the specs of the
phone, the phone carries awesome specs and features at the price being
provided. Here are some of the specs being listed:
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core; 64bit chipset.
- Display: 5.5 inch HD screen
- RAM: 2GB
- Camera: 13MP Rear and 5MP Front
- Battery: 2500 mAh
- Dual SIM
- LTE supported
- Internal Memory: 16GB
- OS: Android with Cyanogenmod
With all these specs
onboard, this would make up a powerful device and will put it at the ahead of
the competition. Fast processing, high download speeds even in patchy areas are
some of the exceptional features. Apart from that, the processor is A53 cortex chipset
that means it will provide fast processing at very low power consumption. That only
means that the phone will last more time on a single charge. The main thing
about the phone is the customizable Cyanogen OS that makes it distinguished from the others.
The phone will only be
available at Amazon India website from 8th Jan 2015. The registrations
for the same will begin on 19th December (Friday) from 2pm onwards
on Amazon. At the launch event, the price of the phone was announced and it is 8,999 INR which is very much surprising as per the features of the phone.
Micromax is the second company
to launch a second brand alongside its existing brand. The first company being
Lava who launched Xolo as its second brand alongside earlier this year.
