The South Korean MNC LG is
soon going to launch a phone that would run on Firefox platform. This will be
the second add to the Firefox smartphone series of LG. The first firefox device
from LG was launched a year ago in Brazil. The phone was an entry-level Firefox
handset and came to be known as LG Fireweb. The leaks of the device has come up
with a complete sketch of the phone. According to @upleaks, the phone will only
be available in the Japanese market with the Japanese carrier KDDI. It will not
come to anywhere else around the globe.
There are still no clues
about the specifications of the phone. But the company now only says that it
would be a budget phone so don’t expect any mind blowing features. From the
@upleaks images, we can though confirm one specification, i.e. the phone will
support 4G connection.
We may get more info about
the specs of the phone in the coming weeks and most probably an official announcement
regarding the launch of the phone.
Currently Spice, Alcatel and
Intex are selling Firefox based phones in India. The cheapest phone in India
with Firefox OS is priced at 1,900 INR which is the Intex Cloud FX.
