Smartphone hotspot is a very good way to use Internet
of your smartphone on your laptop, specially when there is no WiFi around. I
remember, one day I was preparing an article on my laptop and suddenly I realized that I need internet urgently to check the score of my
favorite basketball team and also surf the net for some research (Basket ball
match is urgent to me :-) )
On that day I sorted out this problem and
successfully used the internet of my mobile on my laptop. And today, as some of you
want to know how can you turn your Android smartphone into a wifi hotspot, so I have written it
down in very simple steps.
** Please note that, some telecom operator may or
may not allow you to create a hot-spot. If you are restricted to use this
feature or you do not see this option than try to get in touch with your
operator.
Here is how to turn your Android phone into a
WiFi hotspot:
1. First, go
to your Setting than choose the More option present inside the
Wireless & Network section. Now choose the Tethering & portable
hotspot option. Here is the path
Settings > More... > Tethering & portable
hotspot
#Note this path may vary depending upon your
Android version. In some smartphones it my show up like this Setting ->
Networks -> Sharing. If you still haven't found it yet then I sugget
google it out or you may search through the given options by try and error.
2. Now you
need to setup the Wifi hotspot, to do that you need to select the Set up
Wifi Hotspot option. As informed earlier some option may vary depending
upon your device so don't worry this option will be present but may have some
other name like in some devices it comes like Configure Wi-fi hotspot or
new version of Android, you should tap on Wi-Fi hotspot option, and you
will see the other options.
3. To provide
security to your Wi-Fi it is advicable to choose WPA PSK or WPA2 PSK option
into the security option. If you choose these option than you need to set
password or key which should be atleast 8 characters long. When everything is set then tap on the Save option
4. After
Saving the settings now click on the Wi-Fi hotspot option
5. After that, turn on your wifi of your laptop/mobile and connect it to the Wi-Fi hotspot that you created and then connect to it by entering the password.
