Given
below are the steps regarding the installation of Cyanogen Mod Android 5.0 Lollipop CM12 Custom ROM on HTC One M8:
- First of all you need to download the CyanogenMod Android 5.0 Lollipop CM12 custom ROM and Google Apps in your PC.
- Now, via USB cord, connect your PC with your HTC One M8.
- Now paste the ROM and Google Apps onto your phone’s SD card. Place the .zip file. Pasting should be done only in the root folder of your SD card.
Now
you should be sure about two things before installation:
Rooting
of the device must have been done and Clockwork Mod Recovery tool should have
been installed.
- In the android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory, you should place the boot.img.file in it.
- The turning off the device followed by the disconnection is the next thing to do.
- Now keep holding the volume down button along with the power button and so you will be able to perform the regular mode of the Bootloader.
- Now you should open the Command prompt and type in this -“fastboot flash boot boot.img” and press enter.
- For opening the Command Prompt: enter the bootloader mode on the phone and go to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools(on the PC). Now press Shift+right click open command prompt.
- Following the above command, type in this- “fastboot reboot’ and follow instructions which shall get displayed on the screen.
- Now as to enter the recovery mode, select BOOTLOADER option.
- Choose the “wipe data/factory reset” so as to clear the phone memory after you enter the recovery mode. Usage of volume keys can be done, for navigation and of power button to select the options
- Select “wipe cache partition”. Wipe cache partition is selected for clearing the cache memory.
- Now you have to proceed by moving back to the same ClockworkMod recovery. There you have to tap ‘wipe dalvik cache’ by selecting ‘advanced’ option.
- Now for one another time you have to come back to main recovery screen. Following this you need to tap ‘install zip from SD card’.
- Now for entering the installation process, select ‘zip from sd card’ and go to Android 5.0 ROM’ .zip file. This file is located in your SD Card. Now with the help of volume keys and power button, for their tasks mentioned above. you have to repeat the same procedure for installing Google Apps.
- Now you are done with this process of installation and now you have to ‘Go Back’. Now select ‘reboot system now’, from recovery menu, for re starting the device. Now your loved device named HTC One M8 shall take some time to boot.
- Users, for the sake of confirmation about the installation of “CyanogenMod Android 5.0 Lollipop CM12 custom ROM”, shall go to Settings and select “About Phone”.
NOTE:
No more updates are liable to the company after this procedure is
followed.
More
than 80 percent battery should be there for this procedure. Otherwise the
device can get bricked.
