2015 is turning out to be a key year in the smartphone
space, with Samsung affirming it will launch a smartphone with a bendable screen
equipped for being folded into half. Smartphone screens have gone from 720p to QHD in a
matter of years, and now the tech giant Samsung has revealed 2015 will see the launch of a
foldable screen.
The tech giant launched the amazing Galaxy Note Edge,
which has a screen that reaches out to the side of the smartphone, curving over
the edge. This additional space gives notification panel or scrolling tickers, get to most loved applications rapidly and even play games.
We will probably see a prototype of this foldable screen device in the beginning
of 2015 and the final product might become available towards the end of next
year. Since this device will be produced in small numbers and will host some of
the newest display technology, it will most likely be expensive.
Samsung's
guarantee of a foldable smartphone screen comes days after LG laid out its
feasible arrangements for its Plastic-OLED boards. The Korean titan disclosed it would present twisting
handset in 2015, with foldable gadgets and even roll able tablets and TVs by
2017.
Now the question is what would you rather have your smartphone
do, curve, collapse or roll?
