If you want to be freed from any kind of
restrictions that your android mobile’s manufacturer or carrier may have
applied, rooting is your key! With rooting you can explore more deeply into
your system. Entire operating system can be accessed and customized as well. It
provides firmware replacing, processor under locking and access to more apps. All
you need to do, for rooting, is to back up the current software.
Rooting
Methods:
Nowadays, there are two possible ways of
rooting:
Both methods won’t take much time. Also,
both of them aren’t compatible with all the android devices. So, do a bit of a
research about your device’s compatibility. If not, then have a bit of a
research about other ways of rooting.
Towel Root Method:
- It works on almost all android devices. There
are some exceptions too, especially in the case of MOTOROLA and HTC devices.
- It simply downloads the app and runs in
your phone (not installing). This would not work in devices that have been
purchased after June this year.
- Now for rooting, enable your device to
install apps from unknown sources. Go to settings, then Security and then
Unknown Sources.
- The above step is executed so that apps can
be installed from sources other than Google store.
KINGO
ANDROID ROOT:
- This is actually windows based. Your device
must be compatible with it. If yes, then download it and enable USB debugging
mode on your phone.
- After this, run the software in your device
and connect the phone with your mobile via USB cable. Select for rooting. Wait
for some time and BINGO!
Things
to remember:
- After rooting, download BootChecker. Simply
downloading it and running the app tells us whether the device has been
properly rooted or not!
- If you want to unroot, then select “full
unroot” option.
Pre-Requisites
of Rooting:
- Backup the current ROM and storage.
- Unblock your bootloader. This would not
hinder any application in the start-up process. There are some manufacturers
which don’t allow unblocking your bootloader.
Disadvantages
of rooting:
You can be devoid of warranty by your
manufacturer or carrier. You should be confident to unroot before you root your
device. Just flash your original backup ROM before you claim for any warranty.
Rooting can make your device vulnerable as
far as security is concerned.
- The custom ROM that you are going to flash
upon should be specifically made for your device and follow the instructions carefully,
so that you can avoid bricking your phone.
