Though these are great achievements in the field of Automobile there is always
a hope for new and more advanced Technology. In this article I will try to
inform you about the future those technologies that you may find in your
Automobiles especially cars in near future.
Safety
is the major issue as far as Automobiles are considered. All the Automobile
companies focus on the technology to increase the safety as much as possible.
Here is the list of some Technologies that you will encounter in the near
future:
Night
Vision and Pedestrian Detection:
It is not a very new
technology. It was first installed in the cars of Car Cadilla in 2000. After
Cadilla Mercedes-Benz was the company which focus on this technology. It
upgrades the technology and launch in the market by the name Night View Assist
Plus. It was launched in S-class Mercedes in 2005. This technology is very much
useful in cars and other automobiles. Although this Night Vision technology is
used by very few automobile companies but you can expect this technology in
most of the automobiles in the upcoming future.

Driver
Compatibility:
In
future we will be having automobile which will judge whether the driver is fit
enough or not to drive the vehicle. But this is future. At present we have
technology which can do somewhat similar work. This kind of technology was
first of all installed in Mercedes-Benz E- Class which was launched in 2010.
With the use of this technology the car is able to make a baseline behavior of
each driver in his/her profile. It consider the factors like speed,
acceleration, applying break, speed at the time of turning, blowing horn etc.
whenever anyone drives the car the system checks with its baseline profile. If
there is larger deviation then it will give an attention signal, usually an
audio, to warn the driver. This is very effective in case of drink and drive.

Speed
and Volume Limiter:
This
technology is like a gift from the automobile companies to those parents who
are allowing their kids to drive but are afraid that their kids might drive
very fast or use play music very loud while driving. This technology is
introduced by Ford under the name “MyKey”.

It limits the speed from 60 miles to
80 miles per hour, you can decide by yourself and can change anytime. It can
also be programmed in such a way the volume cannot be increased over a
particular limit. It is recently released 2010 and very soon it will be
available in almost all the cars of Ford. According to a recent survey around 8
million people uses Ford’s MyKey.
Self-Controlled
Cars:
Many
manufactures showed a great interest in autonomous car technology i.e.
self-controlled cars. Audi can be considered as the pioneer in this technology.

Google’s Self Controlled Car

This technology is not yet very common but companies are working on that and
very soon it will available for common people. Google already used one of this
kind of Car in California and Nevada to record the road and make the entire map
of all the roads in these states. The cars travel a total distance of 321,869
kilometers including highways. We can expect these kind of vehicle in near
future.

Cameras:
Few
years ago it was like the competition among the automobile manufacturers to
provide maximum number of Cup holders in the Car but it seems that it is
switched to Camera. Almost all the automobile manufacturing companies are
investing a huge amount of money for the technology to install more number of
cameras in the automobile. Leading companies in this field are BMW, Ferrari,
Ford, Tata Motors etc. These cameras can rotate at 360 degrees and helps in
high traffic, security of vehicle and can be very useful in cases of accident.

Airbags
to stop the cars:
Concept
of airbags is not very new in automobiles. Airbags are already used for the
safety issue i.e. in the case of accidents. Now the manufacturers are trying to
use these airbags to stop the automobile as it is done in spaceship and fighter
jets.

Mercedes-Benz is the pioneer of this technology. Mercedes-Benz is trying
to develop the technology that will help to stop the Automobile before crash.
There will be many sensors that will help to stop the automobile using Airbags
as well as power breaks. This can be very much effective in avoiding crash. Some
of the automobile companies are also working on installing parachute in the
automobiles to stop the damage if the automobile falls from some height.

Communication
with other automobiles and Road:
Many
car companies are trying to develop a technology in which the automobile can
communicate with other automobile is there surrounding. Ford can be considered
as the pioneer in this technology. They are trying to develop the technology
called vehicle-to-vehicle or V2V. According to Ford this technology will be
able to reduce the number of accidents by 85%. Let’s see how this technology
will work:
Just imagine a case when an automobile will cross the
red light. Now even if you don’t see that automobile your vehicle will be able
to communicate with that vehicle and take the precaution to avoid the accident.
This could be done by stopping that vehicle or moving your vehicle, depending
upon the condition and the location of other vehicle.

Some of the companies are not only working on V2V but
they are also working on V2I i.e. Vehicle-to-Infrastructure. In this the
vehicles will communicate with the surrounding infrastructure as well. This
will help to reduce the accidents in which vehicle just hits the
infrastructure.
These two technologies are under progress, but we are
waiting as it will revolutionaries our world.
